In theory, theory and practice are the same...

(As a quick preface, we just want to make it clear that we're not complaining. So many of our posts may seem to be that way, but we're really just excited to tell funny stories. We really were laughing through most of the "interesting" parts of the day. We also got a lot of help from friends, for which we are very thankful.)

So here's how the day was supposed to go:

6:15 AM: Wake up, get ready
6:30 AM: Get 3 oldest kids up, make breakfast and lunches
7:00 AM: Breakfast, Scriptures, family prayer
7:15 AM: Chris takes Daniel and James to school
7:30 AM: Arrive at James's school
7:50 AM: Arrive at Daniel's school
8:00 AM: Chris arrives at work

And here's what actually happened:

6:50 AM: Wake up late, hurry and wake up older kids
6:55 AM: Discover that ants have invaded the pantry, including the cereal
7:20 AM: Chris, Daniel, and James leave house; no scriptures or family prayer
7:30 AM: James dropped off at school
7:40 AM: Chris's car dies (dead battery). Malfunctioning traffic light causes traffic backup.
7:45 AM: Phone call from Chris to Katie
(Katie can't pick up Chris because she is driving the preschool carpool and taking Sarah to school then running an activity center at the Halloween party, and the times will already overlap)
8:20 AM: Neighbor arrives with battery charger. Car starts, but dies again as soon as charger is disconnected. Daniel gets to steer car as Chris and neighbor push the car further off the road. Chris's keys get locked in car, and neighbor gives Chris and Daniel a ride to Daniel's school.
8:30 Try to drop Emily and her friend off at preschool while Sarah waits in the car with Charlotte and Rachel, counting how many minutes she is late to school. The preschool is locked because certain moms are enthusiastically decorating the room for the party.
8:40 Drop off Sarah now 10 min late and fuming. Find out that they are going to start with a game and don't need me yet, take Charlotte and Rachel and go get Chris.
8:50 AM: Katie picks up Chris, and all head to Sarah's school for Halloween activity.
9:00 AM-11:00 AM: Katie helps in Sarah's classroom, Chris gets to play at park with Charlotte and Rachel. (We made floam which is a fun quick messy activity)
11:10 AM: Borrow battery from mechanic neighbor (who happens to be home with the flu).
11:25 AM: Pick up Emily and friend from preschool, and drive friend home.
11:55 AM: Return to Chris's car, install replacement battery, and drive car to garage for repairs.
1:00 PM: Drop off Chris at work.
The rest of the day involved soccer practices, robotics, dead frogs, ants and carving pumpkins and it was fun too.

You're unplanned day sounds a little more fun. I mean, who gets to play with floam every afternoon?

I'm tired just reading it! And know for the record, I think you're both Saints. I would be definitely complaining through all of it. :) It is pretty comical though.
